Push notifications keep you in the loop without having to constantly check the app. TimeWise can alert you about new shifts, schedule changes, coverage decisions, and available open shifts — all in real time.

Enable Notifications on Your Device

Go to your device's Settings app (outside of TimeWise).

Find TimeWise in your list of installed apps and tap it.

Tap Notifications and enable them. You can choose your preferred alert style — banner, sound, and/or badge count.

Open the Settings tab in TimeWise.

Tap Notifications to open the in-app notification preferences.

Toggle on the notification types you want to receive. You can enable or disable each type individually.

Types of Notifications

New Shifts: Get alerted when your manager schedules you for a new shift.

Schedule Changes: Be notified when an existing shift's time or details are updated.

Coverage Decisions: Receive the result when your manager approves or denies your coverage request.

Open Shifts: Get notified when a shift opens up that you're eligible to claim.

Troubleshooting

If you're not receiving notifications, verify that both device-level and in-app notifications are enabled (both steps above must be completed).

On Android, check that TimeWise isn't restricted by Battery Optimization or Data Saver settings, which can block background notifications.

Try force-quitting and reopening the app to re-establish the push notification connection.

Tip: We recommend enabling at least New Shifts and Coverage Decisions so you're never caught off guard about your schedule.
